Wedding! Jessie + Allana [Kehoe & Kin, Wainfleet, ON]

After exchanging their vows during an intimate private ceremony last year, Jessie and Allana gathered the people they love most for a Celebration of Our Love (C.O.O.L.) at Kehoe & Kin in Wainfleet. It wasn't about recreating their wedding day. It was about sharing it with the family and friends who have supported them every step of the way.

As two international teachers, Jessie and Allana have built a life that's rooted in connection, curiosity and community. That spirit was woven into every part of their celebration. Guests had travelled from around the world to be there, filling the day with a beautiful mix of cultures, languages and stories. It was a reminder that love has an incredible way of bringing people together, no matter where they call home.

The Venue: Kehoe & Kin

Nestled in the heart of Wainfleet, Kehoe & Kin provided the perfect backdrop for an evening that felt warm, welcoming and deeply personal. With its beautiful outdoor spaces and relaxed atmosphere, the venue allowed every guest to slow down, connect and simply enjoy being together.

From conversations between friends who hadn't seen each other in years to introductions between loved ones from opposite sides of the globe, there was an undeniable feeling that everyone belonged. It truly felt like one big family.

A Celebration Rich with Meaning

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was Jessie and Allana's unity drink ceremony.

Rather than lighting a candle or blending sand, they chose a ritual that reflected who they are as a couple. Sharing a drink together symbolized the life they've built, the adventures they've already shared and everything still waiting for them in the years ahead.

They also chose to include a beautiful handfasting ceremony as they renewed the vows they had exchanged during their private wedding the year before.

With their hands gently bound together by colourful cords, they spoke their promises once again, surrounded this time by the people who have shaped their lives across countries and continents. The symbolism couldn't have been more fitting. Just as the cords represented two lives intertwined, the celebration itself brought together family and friends from all over the world into one shared moment.

There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. Including behind the camera. 😭

Backyard Barbecue and Mobile Mixer Kept the Celebration Going

Guests enjoyed an incredible meal prepared by Backyard Barbecue, whose delicious comfort food perfectly suited the relaxed, family-style celebration. It was the kind of meal that encouraged everyone to linger a little longer around the tables, sharing stories, laughter and memories from home.

Throughout the evening, Mobile Mixer kept everyone's glasses full with their beautifully restored mobile bar, serving drinks while guests mingled, danced and celebrated long into the evening.

A First Dance Full of Heart

As the evening celebrations continued, Jessie and Allana shared their first dance to "Ready For You" by Black Coffee featuring Celeste. The song created the perfect atmosphere for a moment that felt both intimate and joyful, as they held each other close surrounded by the people who had travelled from near and far to celebrate their love.

After that, the dance floor was open for business!

Golden Hour at Kehoe & Kin

As the evening light softened over Kehoe & Kin, I stole Jessie and Allana away for a few quiet minutes together. Golden hour has a way of slowing everything down, offering couples a chance to step away from the excitement, take a deep breath and simply be together. Surrounded by warm summer light and the peaceful countryside, these portraits felt effortless. Between laughter, quiet glances and a few moments to soak it all in, they were reminded that this day was, above all else, about the two of them. Those stolen moments often become some of my favourite photographs because they're filled with genuine connection, unhurried emotion and all the magic that only golden hour can bring.

Jessie and Allana's C.O.O.L was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that truly reflect who you are. From their heartfelt handfasting ceremony and unity drink to the international community that surrounded them, every detail told the story of two people who have spent their lives creating connections across the world.

Their day at Kehoe & Kin was more than a vow renewal. It was a celebration of friendship, chosen family, adventure and the countless moments that brought them to this chapter together. It was laughter shared between old friends, new friendships formed over dinner, stories exchanged across languages and a room full of people who were so incredibly proud to celebrate them.

Jessie and Allana, thank you for allowing me to document such a meaningful chapter of your story. Your Celebration of Our Love was a beautiful reflection of the kindness, curiosity and connection you bring into the world. It was an honour to witness a love that truly knows no borders.
