Family! Carmen + Ted (feat. Raven and Jericho) [Tall Tail Acres, Sudbury, Ontario]

I think I could easily be coerced into any situation with the promise that there are animals there.

My best friend: Do you want to meet my mom’s horses?
Me: *immediately gets in the car*

I’m thrilled that Carmen and Ted allowed me to photograph these beautiful animals and that we convinced them to join. I think that hese photos show trust, friendship, and a whole lotta love between these humans and horses.

Raven is such a sweet and funny girl with the best sassy attitude. Then there's Jericho, the gentle giant with a heart of gold, kind of like a teddy bear with hooves. They're the horse dream team that perfectly matches Carm and Ted's vibes.

Carm and Ted's story teaches us that shared hobbies are like relationship glitter. Their combo of horse-crazy and heart-eyes for one another makes love bloom. And watching Raven and Jericho vibe with them? It's like watching a love dance that's got hooves.

Also a special shoutout to my beautiful best friend who has such a beautiful connection with these horses.

Family! The Kniselys [Port Colborne, Ontario]

Meet the Knisely family! This beautiful family gathered on their property for an extended family portrait session.

This longer session allows each family their time in front of the camera and we also capture a larger family shot. It’s the perfect chance to get the whole gang together!

Extended families often find it challenging to gather all their members in one place, and a scheduled photoshoot provides the perfect occasion to document these special reunions. Additionally, family portraits create a tangible record of heritage and legacy. In essence, scheduling family portraits for extended family is an investment in preserving memories, reinforcing familial ties, and embracing the legacy of the past.

The Knisely family's portrait session was a delightful rollercoaster of laughter and good-natured mayhem. They proved that a portrait session need not be a rigid affair, but rather a chance to celebrate the love and joy shared among family members. Even chasing around six VERY spirited kids, the Kniselys embraced the chaos with open arms, resulting in a collection of photos that I hope will always bring smiles to their faces.

So, the next time you have a family portrait session, take a page from the Kniselys' book - let loose, be silly, and create memories that will keep you laughing for years to come!
